Oil-wax is the trick here. The finish sits unevenly on the surface, catching light on the high points and deepening in the creases, so the bag looks softened and traveled long before you have actually taken it anywhere.
The silhouette is an easy, slouchy hobo that gives when you fill it and settles against the hip. A tasseled zip closes the top; inside there is space for the daily armful plus a phone pocket, an open slip and a zip pocket for the things you would rather not lose. Clip the strap on and it converts from a shoulder carry to crossbody.
It runs roughly 34 cm across and 30 cm tall on a 13 cm base, big enough for a tablet, a water bottle and a folded scarf. The nine shades span warm beige, coffee and brown through to red, black, cream-black, dark blue, gray and purple.
